The inauguration ceremony of a Computer Learning Centre at
Fazal-ur-Rehman Government Girls Secondary School near Urdu Bazar, took
place on Saturday, 8th March 2008, which also happens to be the
International Day for Women. This fully equipped and highly state of the
art Computer Centre has been established and donated by
Ko-ordination
Group – KRG, which aims to spread quality IT
education in every corner of Pakistan, This is also the same school from
which Dr. Saira Bano, General Secretary KRG,
received her early education.
The ceremony got underway with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran
followed by Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (s.a.w), Fazal-ur-Rehman School’s
students then said welcome to the honourable guests in the form of
welcome tableau.
Speaking at the occasion Chairman Education Committee, All Pakistan
Memon Federation, Mr. Majeed Abdani thanked Chairman, KRG,
Mr. Hanif S. Kalia for his unrelenting efforts towards spreading IT
education in the country, he also pressed on the need of acquiring
academic education specially for girls, calling educating a girl is like
educating the entire family, because this is the only treasure which
can’t be stolen by anyone
Famous Naat Khuwan and Guest of Honour at the occasion, Mrs. Tabinda
Lari said that both male and female needs to perform their part of
responsibility in today’s era, She emphasized on the need of career
development programs for girls because we get better understanding of
things when we practically implement it and it also arouses better
devotion and motivation from your inside towards your profession.
Another Guest of Honour, Dr. Huma Mir said we don’t realize how
important is academic and technical education for girls is, infact our
religion is the only religion that also preaches to educate girls and
give full rights to them and this inauguration of FRCLC for girls on
international Women’s Day is a very pleasing step in this regard by KRG
Senior Teacher Mrs. Nasreen Afaq said that she is exceedingly indebted
to KRG for this computer center, She also added
Mrs. Haseena Moin, Farooq Sattar & Dr. Saira Bano have received
education from this school and she personally taught Dr. Saira Bano and
the way Dr. Saira is being praised today and in the past in every corner
of life only makes me more proud of myself and her.
General Secretary KRG, Dr. Saira Bano described
the ceremony as unique and said that she is glad to do something for her
school and now her school is also on finger tips and is now a part of
global village, She thanked all the guests for joining hands with KRG
in this noble cause.
Presiding Guest, Town Nazim, Saddar Town, Muhammad Dilawar said that
services of Mr. Hanif S. Kalia for IT sector in Pakistan is un-matchable
and called Mr. Kalia as the father of IT, he admitted that at town’s
level the efforts required to be put in, into education sector have been
lacking but he disclosed that we are working on project to upgrade
government schools to model schools and Fazal-ur-Rehman is also included
in the this upgradation.
Speaking at the ceremony Chairman KRG, Mr. Hanif
S. Kalia congratulated Fazal-ur-Rehman school, for entering into 21st
century with this state of the art computer centre and added further
that the journey is not ended here as KRG team
would be paying constant visits to the computer centre to ensure that
center remains fully operative, He said that no doubt we have abundance
of talent in our country and guys from remote areas have created records
in the field of IT, but the thing which our country needs is people in
power to utilize and portray this talent.
Chief Guest, Naib Nazim, Karachi City, Mrs. Nasreen Jalil said that it
has been accepted widely now that current era is the era of IT and this
is the only weapon which can be used for success now and CDGK is also a
great believer in using IT as a key to success and this is the reason
that there is a growing trend of video conferencing in CDGK departments
mainly thanks to Syed Mustufa Kamal, City Nazim, who was himself a
former IT minister, She added that she is very delighted to be a part of
KRG mission again, she wished good luck to school
and said she is highly impressed after coming here as this school is a
proof of the fact that however the bad environment may be, but provided
there is a will to prospour and go ahead, nobody can stop you then, She
also said that support of private sector in very necessary and without
private sector support alone Government organizations cant reap desired
results and KRG being a private entity is a role
model for others in this regard.
