May 07, 2008: It gives me enormous pleasure and honour to be a part of that vision on which Hanif S. Kalia and KRG are endeavoring in order to promote an IT culture in Pakistan, which is the key of success being the language of 21st century, Chief Guest, Mr. Mohammad Raza Haroon, Minister For Information Technology (IT) Government of Sindh, said during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of Deaf Computer Learning Centre – DCLC, at Pakistan Association of the Deaf (PAD), Shaheen Tower, Shahra-e-Faisal, Karachi on Wednesday, 7th May 2008, established & donated by
Ko-Ordination Group-KRG on special recommendations of Ms. Huma Bukhari, District Governor, 305 S-1 Lions Club International, who was also the Presiding Guest of the event.
Mohammad Raza Haroon in his speech expressed that he is overjoyed after seeing the commitment and efforts of Mr. Hanif S. Kalia and Dr. Saira Bano towards their noble cause of spreading quality IT literacy through out the country, specially in this era, where people give much concentration in generating wealth and in flourishing their businesses, but I possess great esteem for Hanif S. Kalia who has consumed his all energy and resources, just to give this country an IT literate generation for the future, in order to compete globally. Pointing towards the audience, the major of which were members of Pakistan Association of the Deaf, he said that, to call talented people like you disable would be an underestimation, because I believe God has given you more talent and willpower, compare to other normal persons, he further said that, basic education is a vital and fundamental factor for further continuation of future studies and if students of Pakistan are given good primary education, only then they can be empowered with other qualification and I would indubitably take the matter of 10,000 non-functional schools in Sindh, to education ministry, brought under my notice by Hanif S. Kalia. He concluded his speech by saying that being the IT minister, I would try to follow the commendable work that Hanif S. Kalia is doing for IT sector and keeping in view the importance of IT, efforts are made to computerized the schools, hospitals and police departments as well to enhance their efficiency.
Expressing his gratitude on this occasion, Mr. Irfan Mumtaz, President, Pakistan Association of the Deaf said, with limited resources PAD is striving to plant confidence and empower disable person so that they can prove their metal to the world. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mohammad Akram, Founder Chairman, Danishkadah a role model for special persons, thanked KRG for donating such an advance computer with latest system to PAD. |
