July 03: The KRG Certificate Distribution Ceremony and Concluding Session of the Braille and Computer Literacy Workshop of Pakistan Association of the Blind - PAB was held at Beach Luxury Hotel on 3rd of July, 2008.
The ceremony was organized to acknowledge the successful candidates of the workshop organized by PAB last month and to motivate these people further in their life to achieve greater feats.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Safdar Ali Najmi, Professor Sir Syed Government Girls College & Member PAB said that Braille is the preference by blinds to learn as this not only educate them to convert their disability into their skill but also spread awareness of it, to other people and this 15 days workshop trained the students both with vision and without vision a great deal. He added that Information Technology is without a doubt the greatest tool to build a successful and prosperous nation. He also succeeded KRG vision of “IT is the language of 21st century and without learning it, no progress and prosperity is now possible” and said that I acknowledge Mr. Hanif S. Kalia & KRG for their services in the field of IT all over the country and particularly for PAB. He said that KRG established a hi-tech computer training centre in PAB with 12 PCs, which is a great blessing for these special people and Hanif S. Kalia not only established these centres but also keeps a close watch on functioning of these centres in a proper way which is another great aspect and I admire him for this with great regards and high appreciation.
Dr. Saira Bano, General Secretary – KRG said that KRG’s prime agenda is the promotion of IT culture in Pakistan and to spread its education and training to all parts of the country and parallel to this KRG also from time to time, lends the ignored aspects of our society, a helping hand, to bring them on par with other wings of the society.

Mr. Hanif S. Kalia, Chairman KRG & Chief Guest of the evening said that my and PAB relation is not new as from a long time we both are working together and I congratulate PAB, all office bearers, and all 60 participants for organizing such a beautiful event as I believe Almighty Allah has gifted every one equally, so you must discover your hidden talent, because you are second to none and the person who discover his hidden talent and locate and overcome his or her weaknesses, they no one can stop that person from accomplishing his or her dreams. KRG’s aim is to broaden the net of IT centres to all parts of the country. Moreover he said IT is the most suitable profession and instrument for people like you and others and I am really glad to notice that you have the awareness and you are utilizing this tool as an asset for prosperity and progress and I assure you that KRG would continue its support to its fullest in future times as well.
Dignitaries from the field of IT Braille and other important sections of the society, such as Deputy District Officers from Liaquatabad Town, Ms. Musarat Nasreen and Jamshed Town, Mr. Anwar Siddiqui, Resident Director of National Book Foundation, Mr. Irshad Abbasi & other noticeable persons from District & Social Welfare Departments graced the ceremony.
At last, presentation of mementos among the dignitaries took place which was followed by the certificate distribution ceremony among participants of the workshop. |
